Project description:
A materials infeed and handling system was
retrofitted to an existing pressing system to automate and increase production
rate. The system utilized an integrated GE 90-70 PLC and a Delta-Tau motion
control computer to implement robotic control of the materials/finished parts
handling. The PLC also provided control for the complex hydraulic pressing
system. All system setup, monitoring and control was accomplished through an
integrated Wonderware operator interface computer.

- Detailed specification of the electrical
operation of the machine
- Specified all controls / electrical
components used, including: PLC, operator interface, motion control
computer, motor control center, power distribution equipment
- Detailed design of control panels and system
wiring diagrams
- MCC room layout and conduit / cable tray
system design drawings
- Programming of operator interface computer
and motion control computer
- Coordination of fabrication and installation
subcontracts
- Generated purchase order requests and
assisted in expediting of electrical equipment
- Start-up and debugging coordination
