Project description:
Hexcel Corporation is a
major producer of synthetic fibers for various industries. An existing textile
line was previously operated by a primarily manual control system utilizing a
number of single-loop controllers to operate process loops. A new Allen-Bradley
ProcessLogix DCS system was designed, programmed and installed to allow for
automatic control and modification of the process.
C&E Design Services
scope:
- Assist with verification of existing
documentation, equipment and field wiring
- Assist with defining required controls
functions
- Detailed point-to-point wiring
diagrams for the new control panels
- Configuration of the DCS system
hardware and operator terminals
- Panel layout drawings for the new ProcessLogix controller panel and field I/O
racks
- Coordinated field interconnection for
wiring the existing instrumentation, motors, etc. to the new control systems
equipment
- Configuration and programming of the
new ProcessLogix control system
- Provided all required ProcessLogix
equipment and I/O modules, equipment enclosures and other miscellaneous
electrical components. Fabricated the CPU rack and all field I/O racks.
- Provided the ProcessLogix server and
workstations, and color printer, and development and runtime software
licenses.
- In-house testing of all equipment and
software prior to shipment to jobsite
- On-site startup and debugging of
system
- Owner training in operation and
modifications to the control system
